Eggs Benedict, a meal after my own heart. Or stomach. One way or another I always find myself ordering Eggs Benedict when brunching on Sundays, or truly, whenever. Being somewhat of a food connoisseur, I must say that some of my favorite breakfast food comes from The Eclectic Fine Foods & Spirits in NoHo. The second I cut into the Eggs Benedict and saw the poached egg sauce drizzle onto the Canadian bacon, I knew this place was gold. You can take my word for it or you can roll out of bed one Sunday morning and walk into Eclectic and you will find yourself surrounded by waiters and waitresses in their pajamas (think ridiculously cute onesies), eager to help you get your brunch on. Tucked in between the intersection of Lankershim and Magnolia, The Eclectic serves some of the most delicious and original breakfast specialties. From juicy smoked salmon & bagel to mouth-watering lobster omelets, Eclectic has something for everyone, even for someone who is as indecisive as me.
Do I go for a creamy crème brûlée french toast or the zesty eclectic egg special that has chorizo, applewood smoked bacon, poached organic eggs mixed with sour cream, guacamole and topped with cheddar cheese? Should I satisfy my sweet tooth with tasteful banana macadamia nut pancakes drenched in strawberry sauce or freshly baked scrumptious buttermilk biscuits and gravy with pan fried red potatoes on the side served with Italian herbs? Usually “all of the above” is my answer to these dilemmas but with juicy organic Eggs Benedict drenched in fluffy hollandaise sauce staring at me in the middle of the menu, my choice was made.
The organic Eggs Benedict with toasted english muffin, Canadian bacon hollandaise sauce and fresh herbs is an absolute must-have that is not to be missed. I recommend pairing it with the champagne brunch which includes any entrée (Eggs Benedict, wink wink nudge nudge) and free-flowing premium champagne mimosas or bottomless house made sangrias.
If for some rare and very unusual reason you are not a fan of bottomless mimosas and/ or sangrias, the infamous royal hound cocktail is muy delicioso! It is a heavenly mixed drink consisting of fresh ruby grapefruit, reyka vodka, cointreau simple syrup and brut rose champagne grapefruit peel garnish. YUM. And the best part of it all, wait for it, is that Tuesdays they have Happy Hour all day long. Yes, ALL DAY. Did I mention that on Sundays you can go to the Eclectic in your PJs as well? Finally, a great way to get to see your crush in his Pjs without having to do some light Instagram stalking.
