First Time:
Miami Sunshine

Writing and Photography by Arwa Alghabri
Spring Break...
On the 6th of March, I took a week long vacation to Miami Beach.  And they were the best days of my life! On a beautiful Friday evening, I drove down the road with windows rolled down, to the airport in Los Angeles and boarded a plane for Miami.

Miami Beach is an island city in South Florida that is connected to the mainland Miami by bridges. The wide beaches stretch from the North Shore Open Space Park, through the palm-lined Lummus Park to South Pointe Park. To the southern end, there is the South Beach which is known as an international cachet with celebrities and models. This part is also known for its early 20th-century architecture found in the Art Deco Historic district and pastel-colored buildings along the Ocean Drive. Across the country, Miami is known as the epitome of vacation destinations.

Exceptional beach walks of Miami

Upon arrival in Miami, we checked in to our hotel, the luxurious Fontainebleau Miami Beach. The hotel provided a scenic ocean view and had at least 6 outdoor swimming pools with private cabanas. Every night spent here was paradise.  My friend and I made sure to explore the beaches, restaurants and fun spots as much as we could. The Fontainebleau Miami Beach, situated on the oceanfront Collins Avenue, Millionaire’s Row. The hotel architectural design blends the glamour of the golden age with a touch of contemporary arts, making it one of the most historically significant hotels in Miami Beach.   Besides the modern and luxurious guest rooms, the hotel offers a scenic ocean view.

Bâoli Restaurant
One of the restaurants that highlighted our vacation was Baoli Restaurant, which is among the best Mediterranean hotels in Miami Beach. They have awesome food served in high energy and clubby setting with a garden patio. They also have dance shows everyone hour, a great experience especially for those who love pop vibes. I tried the truffle fries with Mac & Cheese and tuna sushi, which was so delicious; I would recommend it to anyone wishing to visit the restaurant.

The Wynwood Wall

We also visited the Wynwood Art District which is home to a collection of 10 galleries and museums in the Wynwood neighborhood of Miami Beach. The most iconic part was the

Wynwood Wall which is a unique outdoor wall of urban graffiti painted by artists from all over the world. The wall was founded by Tony Goldman in 2009 and features murals from famous arts including Keith Haring, Jeffrey Deitch, Shepard Fairey, Dan Kitchener, Kelsey Montague and more.

This wall completely transforms the atmosphere of Miami Beach into one abstract, emotionally connecting and provoking place.

Visiting Miami Beach is an experience of a lifetime. Since the first day at the hotel Fontainebleau Miami Beach with its luxurious rooms and serene ocean view, to the soothing beach strolls in the evenings with tennis on wet sand, and the interesting nightlife and food at the Baoli Restaurant, this place was simply out of this world.  For me, Miami provided wonderful memories that I will cherish forever.
