A Magical Place :
The Natural History Museum

 Written by

After paying for your museum pass, you approach the main entrance and perceive how alluring the building is. The laughs and shouting of little kids behind or in front of you, the young teens with amazed faces or the looks of those who are the first time visiting the museum, all of this contributes to its appeal. The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County is very well known for their exquisite exhibitions of dinosaurs displayed all around their premises.  It is a museum that not only cares about what they are presenting but also for what the visitors experience with history. The museum shares its knowledge of a million specimens and artifacts in different exhibitions and also cares about the nature and culture all around Los Angeles as well.

Before going to the museum, it is important to know that it's one of the oldest cultural institutions in Los Angeles. The museum dates back to 1913, however, it reopened after some renovation in 2009.

The museum has a huge range of exhibits such as mammals, dinosaurs, the gem and mineral hall, an exhibit exploring the transformation occurring around Los Angeles, and it has gardens and a lab on site.

The museum highlights the relation
between nature and culture.

If after the visit you are excited to receive more knowledge and have a look at other great and fantastic exhibitions, The Natural History Museum has wonderful neighboring museums: The California African American Museum, The California Science Center, The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, and more.

In the beginning, the discovery of this museum was mainly for educational purposes years ago. It has stayed in my mind as one of the best museums that I could have attended.

The Natural History Museum has so many exhibitions that if you want to get through each of them, you must go early to enjoy the full experience. The dinosaurs are one of my favorite species, it is intriguing how their anatomy is and how much information the museum discovered. However, the different interactions that visitors can have are amazing, you can become an archeologist or even get to see scientists prepare fossils for future exhibitions.  There is always something in there that awakens your curiosity.

The museum also has a souvenir store where you can find many items to remember your visit or to purchase gifts and games for your family.

I remember walking out of the building, feeling the cold wind, and thinking that I must go back and explore every room again soon.

This is a magical place full of history and culture.
