Do you like taking Insta-worthy pictures with art walls?
Have you ever had the feeling of seeing Maurits Escher’s impossible staircases when you are little and you wish you could be in that drawing? Do you wanna tap into your inner child and being ridiculous for a day at the trendy museum? If yes, The Museum of Illusions is just the place for you.

Just a couple minutes from Chinese Theatre on busy Hollywood Blvd, lives the museum. As for parking, they do not have a parking lot at the museum and there is zero free parking around the area. The Museum of Illusions just opened this year. When it just opened, there was a huge line outside, but now it is not too busy.

This place is made for taking pictures and you can even rent out tripods for $8 if you want to. All of the arts are inside and there are over 30 pieces of trick art with two stories and the whole wall murals. It will take about an hour to take a look around and take pictures.

While we visited, a kind staff was showing us around the museum and giving us tips for how to take great pictures. It is better to bring more than three people to the museum when you visit. Most of the artwork is better with more than two people and you need someone to take pictures.

However, if you cannot bring enough people, staff at the museum can help you take great pictures.

Even if you don’t know how to pose for the picture, there are some examples displayed for each painting and little guidelines of where to take pictures from. There are different kinds of illusion art, you can shrink in place, or the wall you can be in the scene of Titanic, or you can look like you are rock climbing on the cliff. When you walk into each wall, you feel like you are walking into a different set from a play or the
scene from a movie.

One of the most popular walls are “Trump Wall” and visitors can wear boxing gloves and they can take pictures that look like you are boxing with Donald Trump.

One of the staff told me a funny story that someone actually punched the wall with the gloves even though there is a sign said “Don’t punch the wall!” and he made a hole. The museum had to repaint the wall.

Museum of Illusions will bring you an entertaining optical illusion experience. People of all ages will enjoy. It is very fun to take pictures with different poses and you can post so many pictures on your Instagram later. However, this place is not somewhere you can spend all day.

An hour is enough to go around and take more than enough amount of pictures.  Do you want to add this place to your lists of trendy museums to visit? If you are enthusiastic about taking pictures in front of art walls, this is the museum for you.
