All you need is the right backdrop, and of course, the right filter to bring your photo to life. If you're ever in Los Angeles, there's plenty of stunning murals that are just waiting to make an appearance on your Instagram page. What are you waiting for, go check them out! Here are the TOP 5.

CLARENDON
The artist behind the Global Wings Project, Colette Miller, has painted a stunning array of colorful wings all around Los Angeles and across the world. There’s one on Melrose in West Hollywood which you'll probably see on most people's Instagram accounts, but that one isn't exactly in the best condition. The one you want to go to is right outside Guelaguetza restaurant, and it's one that not many people know about, which will definitely give your Instagram page that unique factor. There are three sets of wings, in shades of pink, purple and blue, painted right outside the restaurant, so get ready to take your pick of your very own angel wings.

TWO
BERLIN WALL

LO-FI
If a return ticket to Berlin is a little out of your price range, you’re in luck because one of the biggest pieces of the Berlin Wall is actually displayed in Los Angeles and it’s got some pretty cool art plastered all over it. You can find it on the street right outside the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. There's a bunch of artists' who have their work on the the wall; one of them being RETNA, a well known street-artist who's stunning creation is featured on the back of the wall.

THREE

Despite not being able to find any background information, this wall is definitely worth a mention because of how stunning it is in person, and how well it photographs on camera. Adorned with bright blue butterflies and a striking woman who bares a slight resemblance to tattoo artist Kat Von D, this mural can be found just off Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood.

FOUR
MADE IN LA

If pale colors are your thing, your Instagram feed is going to love you. Against a soothing grey backdrop outside the Cisco furniture store in West Hollywood are the words “Made in LA” scrolled across the entirety of the wall. This is another wall which can be found right on Melrose Avenue, because frankly, that street is full of pretty amazing murals. Whether you are a tourist or an Angeleno, this one’s definitely a photo for the books. Plan your visits wisely, cause this wall can get a little crowded at certain times of the day.

FIVE
HELLO

INKWELL
Most walls are filled with A LOT; a lot of color, a lot of words and a lot of movement. This one, is anything but. The HELLO wall is a break from the traditional mural, with simplicity as its motto. Plastered across a white backdrop is light grey script that reads "Hello", in big, bold letters. This wall can be found in West Hollywood, right opposite the Paul Smith store.

Pro-tip: If you're planning on taking a photograph that isn't black-and-white, take a bunch of brightly colored flowers with you on your photo-op. The flowers will stand out against the more softer colors of the wall and it will do wonders in improving the aesthetic of your photograph.

HONORABLE MENTION

JUNO

There’s not much to see here except the fact that the entire Paul Smith store on Melrose in West Hollywood is painted a bright shade of pink, making for a pretty cool backdrop. This wall has made an appearance on almost every Los Angeles based Instagram blogger's page, that it's almost a rite of passage. If you haven't seen it yet, what are you waiting for!
